He was first inspired by his father, awell-known jazz guitarist in Tanzania.Leo has created his own modern style, which he calls SwahiliBlues. He sings in both Swahili and French, but prefers to sing inhis mother tongue, Swahili. Leo is also a guitar tutor and astudent. He has also worked as a peer educator, singing songs thatteach the community about HIV and AIDS.In September 2011, Leo made his international debut, playing onthe prestigious Southbank at the Royal Festival Hall and QueenElizabeth Hall in London at the London African Music Festival. InFebruary 2012, he played at the Sauti za Busara music festival inZanzibar. He has also played with a number of renownedinternational musicians, including Chiwoniso from Zimbabwe, BobbyRicketts from USA, Ali Keita from Mali, as well as many nationalmusicians and poets.This app is intended to give updates about Leo and his band suchas where he plays/tours, how to book his show, listen to histracks, watch his videos and so much more just on the tips of yourfingers.
